COVID-19 Update

Latest COVID-19 update from St Mary's  ( latest update 11/09/2021 -  22:00)

We are changing the arrangements for our Sunday morning service, in line with our Bishop’s advice and recent government guidance.  There is no further need to pre-book a place but please do continue to use the NHS app if you have it.

You will understand that, because of all the safety measures we have in place for the protection of everyone in our church community, we are asking you to observe the following important instructions:

  1. Please wear a mask at all times when in the church and elsewhere in our building.  You can wear gloves if you wish (useful for the entry keypad into the carpark).
  2. On arrival you will be asked to sanitize your hands, have your temperature checked and asked for your name and contact details.
  3. Please continue to use the NHS App to check in and check out.
  4. You may sit where you wish in church, but please leave two empty seats between you and anyone from outside your family.
  5. We will sing a hymn at the start of the service and another at the end – with masks on!
  6. Please continue to share the Peace by signing, and restrict any physical contact to family members.
  7. Please wait to be directed to go up for communion (which will continue to be the wafer only, not the wine), and follow the one way system as directed.
  8. Please remember to keep your distance from other people and give them space.  Please continue to show consideration for those who might be vulnerable to infection.
  9. If you need to go into the kitchen for a glass of water, please wash, dry and put the glass away afterwards.

Thank you for your co-operation in observing these protocols.  We need to protect each other and take real care to prevent the further spread of the virus.

We are hopeful that we can make further changes later in September, including serving refreshments after the service.

The service will be recorded and shown online from 11am each week. If you’ve been to the service in church, you can watch it again and have a sing if you want to!)
