St Mary’s Outward Giving in 2007

Darfur, Africa: The United Nations has described it as the world’s worst humanitarian crisis; more than 200,000 have died from violence, disease or starvation, another 2.5 million people are currently living in displacement camps, dependent on humanitarian aid.

Christian Aid supports large humanitarian relief programmes in north, south and west Darfur, which aim to assist those worst affected by the conflict. Almost half a million people receive help through these programmes, including shelter, food, health, nutrition, water, sanitation, education, and agricultural and psycho-social support. The programmes are aimed at those in need, whether displaced or not, and from all ethnic groups.  Click here to find out more.
