Chestnuts Playcentre, Eastfield

Chestnuts Playcentre is located in a large area of green space attached to the Community Centre in Norman Road, Eastfield.

They offer a range of art & craft activities, most of which take place in the large, main room.  They also have two smaller areas – one is a quiet room where children can read or do their homework, the other is now a ball pool.

Sports activities and games take place on the green at the front of the building. Outside to the rear there is an enclosed play area consisting of a sandpit, and play structures which include an aerial runway, tyre swing and multi-activity climbing frame with slide.

The staff at Chestnuts work with the community and schools in the area.  They have a Parents & Friends Group, which helps to raise money for the children who attend the Centre.

Children are welcome to attend the Playcentre between their 5th and 13th birthdays.

Some comments from the children about the new play equipment that has recently been installed on the outside site at Chestnuts

I really enjoy the new play equipment - it’s really good and better because we don’t have to always play on the basketball court.  Amy

I really enjoy the new play equipment, it makes the Playcentre a better place even better because no other Playcentre’s got this lovely play equipment. Michael

Without the play things we couldn’t play on them.  Ella

The equipment for outside is very nice.  Cindy

We all like it and it’s really good.  Ricky & Kayleigh
