Fundraising

You can never outgive God.

God releases us from a poverty mentality, and thinking we haven't got enough to give. We can't afford not to give.  It won't always be easy, but we will keep on giving.

St Mary's supports a wide range of charities and causes, local, national and international.  We do this through special events and activities as well as direct donations from our members and church funds.

A summary of our giving in 2007

Each year we will focus on one or two particular organisations and make an extra effort to assist them.

One such example was a 3 course lunch on 20th May in aid of the Chestnuts Playcentre.

Chestnuts

This year, with the help our Bellringers, we are giving special attention to the Chestnuts Playcentre.

This is located in the heart of our parish and is for children between the ages of 5 and 13. It is provided and staffed by the City Council, but needs funds to support the children's activities and buy equipment and toys.

Christian Aid

As we do every year, we will collect door to door throughout the parish to raise money in support of Christian Aid Week in May.
